SECURING CONSTRUCTION SITES
Selecting appropriate safety barriers for work zones on roads is very important for the safety of all motorists and construction site personnel. Areas with different levels of protectin can be defined to secure work zones: A, B, C, D, and E. Systems with higher containment levels should be chosen, where heavy vehicle traffic is higher.

Areas A and E are particularly critical because they include a lane change. In those locations, particulary grave consequences can arise if a heavy vehicle runs off the road.

NOTE 2: The dynamic deflection and the working width allow determination of the conditions for installation of each safety barrier and also to define the distances to be provided in front of obstacles to permit the system to perform satisfactorily.
NOTE 2: The deformation will depend on both the type of system and the impact test characteristics.
